1st Meeting - 9-14

We did an introduction where each student was given a 1/2 sheet of card stock to fold in half to make a table name tag. They wrote their names on one side then they drew at least 4 pictures that described things that were important to them: family, friends, activities etc. Once they were finished each student stood up and presented their drawings that depicted something of importance about themselves. We played a name game, and spent time getting to know each other. Discussed expectations etc. Our focus for journal writing will begin next week. The topic is Respect, students will write a paragraph each day revealing a time they showed respect for someone, self-respect or witnessed someone else being respectful.
